Disappearing VLC 2.4.1 control bar

1. After a couple of seconds starting a video playback, the control bar disappears from the screen, and no tapping or gestures brings it back. I can stop the video only by pressing on the iPad control button. It was suggested that I should re-install the app, but it poses another question; will I lose my files in the process or is there a way to save them before the re-install?

2. The albums and/or videos on the ‘home page’ are not in an alphabetic or any other logical order, and I cannot re-order them by dragging. I could do file dragging on level-2 only. Is there a remedy for this?
