I just received Pioneer F860BT with CarPlay.

I wanted to try VLC on it any chance of a TestFlight invitation for a feedback ?

Not sure CarPlay works with VLC.

As for now that Apple allows 3rd developers to use Carplay, is there any chance that we will see VLC on this platform?

It'd be awesome if CarPlay worked with VLC -- I typically use the app to stream internet audio stations, and I end up starting the stream going and then plugging the phone in. While driving if the stream cuts out or I want to change to a different station... I just suck it up and wait until I'm stopped somewhere to do it. It'd be great if there was a CarPlay interface to make it easier.

Yes, would love to see VLC on Carplay.
Carplay is becoming more popular.

Having used CarPlay a lot during this summer, it is definitely likely and would be a great addition to VLC for audio content. For video, we are probably not allowed to do it because it would be too distracting to the driver. Noted and will be discussed internally.

I’ll be looking forward to Carplay compatibility on VLC. I use it mainly to stream radio stations while on the road. On that subject, is there a way to backup stream URLs on the iOS version?

hello! when i use VLC with carplay to listen to an audio playlist (plugged into my car via the lightning cable), the first half second or so of each song is cut off (so the song starts playing slightly after the start of the song). does anyone else notice a similar thing? this doesn't happen when listening with headphones or the phone speaker.

Have there been any updates for VLC running on CarPlay? Thanks.

Sadly there haven't been much progress on the CarPlay integration.

It is something we would still like to work and iterate on !
