Hi everyone,

Since Apple rejected the app I've been entering the forum quite often expecting some kind of update on the issue. I have seen many people ask what I, and no response.

In my case, I use VLC to deliver streaming video to a final application, so I need that VLC is in App Store in order to allow users to use it.

Please, can you tell us what is going on? Will be VLC for iOS available soon in the App Store?

Nothing useful in the news on the web page, just an announcement of the previous version for iOS and no mention of why it isn't available in the store anymore or when if ever that will change.

We will be launching a semi-public beta (aka TestFlight) of the next version shortly (review by Apple on that is more difficult than expected to say the least) and hope to go into production mode afterwards, but since this depends on things we don't have direct influence on, I can't give a release date. Sorry about that.

Be aware that you could include our playback runtime in your own app so you don't depend on the availability of our own official app and we will happily help you with the integration in case you are interested.

We could distribute your application "VLC Media Player for iOS" from BuildStore. It could be an alternative if Apple blocks your app in AppStore.

This was my favorite and most used app until it was pulled. I hope it comes back soon, I cant believe the itunes holiday shutdown delays it this much....

I know, apple sure is taking their sweet time. How long does the approval process take?

2.4.0 was approved a few days ago, but includes a bug which can lead to incomplete displays of the media library on iPad. 2.4.1 fixes this and is pending for review for 48 hours now. Let's see how long it takes this time. Hopefully not the 18 days it took for 2.4.0.

I hope Apple will just ignore and ban you and your entire organization from iTunes Connect. You keep silently removing VLC from the Appstore due to your little internal conflicts and this brings a lot of trouble to users and ruins the entire user experience Apple built and maintain. You are pathetic.

I bet you haven't even fixed the orientation bug that plagues the Windows version for years.

Its now mid February. Any estimate of when VLC for iOS will be released.

I was just checking my itunes and saw the vlc icon, downloaded it on my ipad and its version 2.4.1 but theres no reviews/description/screenshots in the app page. It also doesnt show up in search so im surprised its in my itunes.
Is 2.4.1 the version that was available right before the takedown a couple of months ago?

Its still not in the UK app store, at least I don't think it is.

Its not appearing in the results of a search for 'vlc for ios', like it used to. I assume this, or 'videolan' would be the appropriate search term to use?

@generic . it doesnt show up in search for me either, thats why i was so surprised to see it pop up in my purchased list in itunes. I tried finding it before but failed, maybe its in the process of being approved and thats why it reaapeared in my itunes?
