What is the status of samba support for VLC IOS?
Last post I can find says later summer will have it.

I use 2.3.0 and it is not there.

We are done with the reverse engineering of the protocol, but we still need to add our library to the iOS project. This is still a to do. Right now, we are focussing on having VLC back on the App Store, since this is of higher priority to us.

Now that 2.4.0 is finally back (just got it by restoring my "purchase" from the App Store), this is the one feature I'd like to see.
I suspect that many Apple users, like myself, keep their large video files on a Time Capsule (which uses SMB sharing).
By the way, great work getting VLC back on the App Store.

SMB will come, we've done the lower layers for this.

Clearly this year, but no fixed date.
I just tried 2.7 with support for samba. I had it working for a second, but then tried to play a big mp4 video and it locked up.
When I open VLC again it is says "Upgrading Media Library" and crashes CrashReporter: "Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)"
I have deleted Preferences/org.videolan.vlc-ios.plist and the Caches/*vlc* but I can't get back to a clean fresh start. It always crashes when I open it. What to do?
