Streaming from cloud router

Postby Randman » 07 Aug 2014 05:27

Hello all,

Just wondering if there is a way to stream content to VLC iOS from my cloud router. I have an iPad mini retina and the latest version of VLC installed. My router is a d- Link N600 (DIR-826L). This router supports a USB drive of up to 1 Terabyte and so far I can only use the the D-Link Shareport app to stream. The problem with this app is it only supports Apple codecs so my .AVI files have to be downloaded on my iPad and then opened with VLC. Since my IPad is only 16 gigs, you can guess what a PITA this is.

I'm sorry if this has been covered already in the forums here, but I could not find any relevant info.

Thanks in advance.

This might be supported in a future update of VLC for iOS later this year. Can't say for sure right now.

Thanks Felix for the quick reply. I look forward to a future update that supports this.
