Unable to browse some UPnP folders

VLC version: 2.3.0
iOS version: 7.1.2
UPnP server: XBMC 13.1 running on OS X 10.9.4

When I browse the hierarchy of the actual folders and files on my hard drives (XBMC UPnP server > Video Library > Files), there doesn't seem to be any problem.
When I browse the media library (XBMC UPnP server > Video Library > any folder but Files):
If the folder I'm opening contains less than 3 video files, it is highly possible that I can open this folder and play the files in it.
If the folder contains more files, chances are that I will see an empty folder.

I'm pretty sure it's a VLC problem because Infuse works perfectly with the same server.

Any suggestions?
