Is there plan to provide remote control capability to VLC for IOS. I tested the CineXplayer on my Ipad and tested the remote control fuction from my Iphone and the result is OK. I was hoping that the remote control feature would allow user to browse the folders. The way CineXplayer remote control works by creating a webserver on the IOS device and generate a index of files in the selected folder. This method does not allow user to dynamically browser folders from the remote IOS devices via http. However, it does have nice remote features such as volume control, forward, backward, and stop. Will VLC support this type of functionality for remote control.

When will VLC support playlist, shuffle and looping for both DLNA and FTP?

Thanks.

MK.

Hey,

As a first step, the next version of VLC for iOS will allow you to download media stored on your iOS device via a WiFi / HTTP interface in addition to the existing upload feature. Adding a remote control is a nice idea and something we might want to look into, indeed.

Looping of individual files is already supported for UPnP/DLNA and FTP. The other features you requested are definitely on our list, but not being worked on right now, since VLC for iOS is developed by 3 people in their sparetime..
