The simple solution would be to download the VLC plugin for chrome, allowing you to use VLC and its features within the chrome browser, at which point you could press the 'cast' button, and voilla! prob solved.. barring any complications of course.

Figured I would ask again if this feature is available yet? Love VLC and I love my Chromecast. Be great if they worked nicley together. It is a bit choppy when I play thru my Chrome Browser.

Anything new on this? I just got my Chromecast and I love it, but I hate the limited file types the in-browser casting supports.

Any progress, its been 6 months since I saw anything beyond speculation about this.

And dont forget to support dnla that isnt chromecast (I cant imagine them being technically too disimilar)

Interesting. Here it is, June 16th. When the H*** will there be support for Chromecast??!?? The May 15th update was supposed to have that.. What May 15th update? Wait a minute.. Oh yeah, there was no May 15th update. If there won't ever be Chromecast support, please just tell us. If there will, then give us a date, and stick to it.. How about it guys, will this ever happen.
