Gesture Has "slow response"

When I swipe to fast forward a video, there is a lag before playback resumes. Anyway you can make it smoother like other ios players?

What kind of device are you using? iPad2? iPhone 3GS or 4?

I am currently using an ipad 2. But I also notice the same problem on an ipad air
