Audio Synchronisation

Postby evalf » 20 Apr 2014 08:27

I frequently use bluetooth speakers when playing videos on my computer, which are great except that they introduce a slight audio delay, which I understand is inherent to the bluetooth technology and a problem with all brands and models of bluetooth speakers and headsets. This is not a problem with VLC on windows as this can very quickly be fixed with the Audio Delay Up/Down option, which is also very useful to deal with video files that have audio sync issues.

I've been looking for such an option in the iOS version of VLC but so far haven't found any. Have I somehow overlooked that option somewhere? If it is not a feature yet, are there plans to implement it in a future version? Thanks for your help!

We don't expose this option on iOS indeed due to the limited screen estate.

We will add support for automatic detection of audio output delays caused by BlueTooth or AirPlay devices in the next version.

That's fantastic, looking forward to that new version!
