Is it possible to use vlc to connect to ftp server on a different port say 2121 ? I tried like this ftp://IP:2121 but it doesnt work.

SERVER CONNECTION FAILED
Please check your server address and credentials

Yep, VLC for iOS does not support FTP browsing on ports different to 21 at this point.

Streaming FTP URLs with different ports will work just fine though.
