When you connect to FTP server which requires log in, streaming doesn't work. I found out that VLC opens stream without credentials (e.g. ftp://my-server.com/my-file/ instead of ftp://user:password@my-server.com/my-file). It works when you manually open the stream, but it's quite annoying that you have to type the whole url. I'm using the latest version available.

Have you found any solution to open files from password protected FTPs (except manualy)? Does anyone know?

I'd like to open then straight from tcmd.

Works correctly for me with the latest version - just checked the code path: looks correct as well. VLC for iOS is generating the URL to stream from the path you went down to the actual file you are interested in alongside the login information used to access the server..
