Postby KingShadow » 24 Nov 2023 05:54

Is Dolby Vision going to be added to VLC as only Infuse has support for it?

We will add regular HDR support soon. Dolby Vision probably not.

Is there any update on this (HDR Support)?

PS. Felix, are there plans that VLC will switch to the correct framerate? For example: My ATV runs at 50Hz. The Movie is 24 Hz. So if i start playback my ATV stays at 50 Hz so there are tiny stuttering because its the wrong Framerate. Netflix and other apps switch to the right framerate.

Thank you!

We will support HDR10 and framerate matching in version 4 of VLC. The code is mostly done but too complex to be backported to current releases. We will start beta testing version 4 later this year.
