VLC 4.0 - When?

I am in a very eager state in antecipation for VLC 4.0.
I've read articles back from early 2019 (thus, more than 4 years ago), promising this would be released.
We, that are from the music camp, are hoping to have the implementation of gapless playback.
I myself have been contributing in trying to demonstrate some bugs with album art implementation and tag reading.
I won't ask for ReplayGain again, because I already did - but I could wait for this, next time.

But we will reach soon 5 years... of waiting.

Or is it time to give up hopes?

I know this post may sound like a "ranting" post - but I am indeed anxious about having a decent music player for AppleTV. I can assure it's not a ranting post. I'm just a user, and cheer for this project with all my heart.

There's no schedule to free software... it'll be released when whoever is developing it wants to do so.
