can't see local file subtitle on my ipad

Postby ramf » 29 Aug 2023 14:55

Hi,
How are you all?
I'm trying to connect my ipad to a USB drive to watch a movie.
I can open the video with vlc without a problem - but I don't see the subtitles (same folder and same name as the video file).
when I click on the icon I can see an option to download subtitles from a website - but I see no way to use the subtitle file I have.
What canI do in order to get my file to be added to the movie?

There is no way to do it for now. We will add that feature in the next major update of the app (3.5.0). For the meantime, copy the movie along with the external subtitles file to the VLC context on your device - the subtitles will be recognised automatically then.

Thanks Felix Paul Kühne.
I can confirm that when I copy the movie and the subtitle file locally it's working.
The only problem is when I try to read it directly from the USB drive.
Glad that you will add it in the next major update of the app.

Regards,
Ram
