Subtitles are not working on Apple TV

Hello,
I've been using VLC for a while on my Apple TV, but subtitles have stopped working. I play the videos through the LOCAL NETWORK. The video file and the subtitles are in the same folder, the same name (double checked) , and the subtitles are in the .srt extension.

Only on Apple TV subtitles do not work. When I swipe down, I don't have the option to choose my subtitle, I only have the option to download via OPENSUBTITLES.

I thought the problem could be with my network or my files, so I downloaded VLC on my iPhone and used the same server, folder and movie as a test. On the iPhone I can select subtitles perfectly, and they work 100%. They work as expected.

The issue appears to be exclusively on the tvOS version.
TVOS version: 16.3.2
VLC version: 3.3.12

I believe the problem started after the December update. Is anyone experiencing this problem and know how to solve it?

I'm having the same problem. I can't pinpoint when it started, but December sounds about right. I don't have a solution. Does anyone?
