Just want to report bugs I've experienced on VLC iOS (Both iPad and iPhone)
01. DELETED VIDEOS STILL TAKING UP SPACE IN IOS STORAGE
This happens if you transfer files from PC to device via USB (iTunes). and delete the files from the app.
This is a known iOS issue, even deleting photos still take up storage.
Solution:
Transfer your files using Sharing via Wifi. If you delete the files transferred via wifi, the storage frees up space immediately.
02. VIDEOS NOT PLAYING WHEN YOU TURN OFF THE DEVICE SCREEN
When you turn off the screen of your device or minimize the app without pressing the close 'X' button and you'll find that once you wake up the device and resume the video, it won't play at all.
Even restarting the app, it still won't play videos.
I've tried both mp4 and mkv files, in h264.
Solution:
Changing hardware decoding from ON to OFF fixes this issue, it's like VLC has stopped using the gpu of the device.
Before putting the device to sleep, press first the close button
Restart the device. You can use hardware decoding again once you restart.
