VLC doesn't auto load subtitle file which has the same name as the video

Postby Jibus » 23 Feb 2015 01:11

First of all, i would like to thanks the team for this amazing app. I am really happy to see VLC again on the app store and i hope that the development will continue and will bring new features.

Regarding my issue (not really an issue but maybe more a feature request), i notice that the app is not loading subtitle file which has the same name as the video file.

(tested on mkv file only)
ie : myvideo.mk, myvideo.srt are in the same folder. VLC doesn't seem to see the subtitle.

User case to reproduice :

- Using DS File app which allows to navigate among folders hosted on a NAS
- DS File allows to play a video file in another video player like VLC
- VLC open (or download) the file but doesn't load extra subtitle file which are named as the video file

See https://superuser.com/questions/757748/ ... 776#757776.

Set "Subtitle Autodection Fuzziness" to "2".

for me the problem was that vlc didn't had access to Documents directory, you can give it access in system preferences -> security and privacy -> files and folders -> vlc [in macos]
