Downloads not saved to video library

Up until this week any file downloaded showed up in the video library. Now it doesn’t. I can open it on the download page and view it, but it is not saved. I’m running iPad iOS 15.5. I have tried using friends’ wi-fi to see if it made a difference, but no luck. Most, but not all of the download links pasted in are from seedr.cc

What is the file extension of the stored media? Can you see your files when using the Files app to see the VLC folder?
