Playing SDR content on Apple TV in HDR mode

Hi guys,

With Apple TV running in HDR mode, with “match content”/“match frame rate” selected, Netflix and TV apps can dynamically switch TV between SDR and HDR depending on content.

VLC doesn’t seem to do that, so with Apple TV in HDR mode, all (SDR) videos played on VLC seem washed out and over exposed.

The only solution so far I found was to keep Apple TV in SDR mode permanently or keep manually changing to SDR before playing VLC (which is obviously not ideal)

Any help would be most appreciated
