‪VLC App Suddenly Showing Empty Media Library‬

‪I thought I’d better start a new thread, as this problem is for iOS.‬ I’m having the same problem as in this thread.

It’s happening now in iOS, except it wasn’t after an update. It seemed to happen when I deleted a file (in the app on my iPhone 8 ). I can see all my files in iTunes on my laptop, but on my iPhone it suddenly says Empty Media Library. I'm using version 3.0.3 and on iPhone 8 with iOS 11.0.2 . It seems to be working fine on my iPhone 6 with the same VLC version, though with an earlier iOS version (I haven’t tried to delete any videos on the iPhone 6 because I don’t want all the files there to disappear too.)

Can I do something to fix this or do you have to issue an update? I can't watch any of my videos!

I guess no one is checking these. Since there was no reply I deleted the app and had to reload all the videos. I hope it doesn't happen again. I'd still like to know why the problem occurs and if it will ever be fixed.

We found one case where we reproduced this issue. A fix will come with 3.1 and then this should hopefully not happen anymore
