File size limit for movies in mp4?

Hello. I have an iPhone 8+ 256gb running 11.1 and I have a couple of movies that I’ve tried to add to my phone. One movie is 2.6gb and the other is 3gb. I keep getting an error when the upload gets to around 1.5gb and it will abort. Is there some kind of formatting limit in either the app or the phone storage itself? Anything around 1gb loads fine. The limit is just your phone storage.
Have you made sure that you have enough room for an extra 2.6 GB ?

Absolutely! I have 147gb free. I’m wondering if it’s the phone’s storage formatting issue, like how those FAT32 formatted drives are limited to 2gb files max and FAT16 limited to 4gb files? Even trying to drag and drop the file results in the same error.

you don't happen to be a developer with Xcode installed on your Laptop ? I would love to take a look at the logs.
Right now it's hard to say what exactly the issue might be without more information. The App is not crashing or showing you an alert I guess...
Otherwise I would have to retry myself.

Thanks for the offer, Carola. In researching, apparently there is a bug in the High Sierra OS I’m running on my mid-2010 MBP. It seems the bug has reduced the file size max from 4gb to around 2gb if you wished to copy or transfer. Others are saying I can use a third party app on my Mac to make the transfer as it directly affects Finder. I will give this a shot tonight. Thanks again.

That's the first time I'm hearing of that limitation, interesting!
If you're uploading through iTunes try using the Wifi upload instead. That might work
