Show TITLE of video and not metadata!

I'm noticing with a lot of my videos (it of course show the file names of the videos correctly) but when I play a video, pause a video, etc, instead of seeing the file name/title of the video on the bottom of my screen for 5 seconds, I see a bunch of garbled codec/metadata information instead. Why does the app do this? It's not very attractive. Some videos don't have this problem but some do, my files are all MP4 so I'm not sure what the issue is.
