Fast forward/backward not working after ios 11

Hello!
Every time i play a video and skip some scenes using the slide at the top, it lags and sometimes, doesnt work. I have tried uninstalling reinstalling the app. Still not working, both on my ipad ang iphone. Issue started after updating it to ios 11 so i suspct the problem is the compatibility of the app versiob and the latest ios version. What could be a workaround while waiting for the next vlc update?

I am finding this issue too.

I am on IOS 11 using an iPad Mini 4 with the latest version of VLC.

When scrubbing or fast forwarding playback stops and I have to close down the video and restart.

Seems like its an issue with IOS11. Hopefully this is fixed in the next update.

Same issue here. When I jump backwards or forward a few times, the video stops and freezes, the pause/play button doesn't work anymore (and actually nothing else), and I have to close the video and reopen it.
I have an iPhone 6s Plus with iOS 11, and macOS Sierra 10.12.6 with iTunes 12.6.2.20 (on a MacBook Pro 13" from 2016).
Video formats involved in my case: mkv and mp4.
Is there a fix in progress?

Adding my "me too" to the list.

I'm using my iPad Pro (2nd gen) to connect via SMB to my NAS drive. I'm using VLC 2.8.3 (283.2) which seems to be the latest.

I never had any problems before upgrading to iOS 11. Now if I mess with the slider more than just a little or more than just a time or two, movie freezes.

I sometimes can't tap on the minimized playback of the movie in the lower left to make it go full screen. but tapping fullscreen will force it. (why on earth did anyone make minimized playback on start a default??)

killing the app and starting over unfreezes all and I'm back to not being able to use the slider.

I looked for release notes. couldn't' find any. the release notes on the app store say there was an update 3 days ago, but that didn't fix the issue. (app store release notes only mentioned FTP, not SMB)

Now that I've found my way to this forum I'm trying to figure out if I have a snowball's chance in hell of it being fixed or I should just move on. (I know it's free) Just trying to figure out what to do.

I just wanted to chime in and inform the maintainers that I have also run into this issue. The severity of this issue is random. I've had files that I can seek a little bit and files that cannot seek at all. This issue seems to be only present when I'm using the seek bar while a file is playing. When I swipe right to fast forward 30s, I can continuously do so until the end of the file. It doesn't matter if the file is 3h or 10m, it can happen to any file.

Sometimes when it is unable to seek, I can return to the main menu and play a file again. I had one instance where the app was completely unresponsive and I had to close the app via multi-tasking before I could return to the main menu.

It started occurring to me as soon as I updated to iOS 11 (iPhone 6S Plus). I have updated to iOS 11.0.1 and the issue persists. Prior to that, on iOS 10, I have never encountered this issue. I believe my app is up-to-date. All my files have been converted using handbrake into mp4.
