Create Playlist or Sort files in folder

Postby Rehnn » 04 Jul 2016 17:09

I have a load of small clips named Play1a.mp4, Play1b.mp4, Play 2a.mp4, Play2b.mp4 ... Play200a.mp4, Play200b.mp4.

I want to view them in order. But when I just import them via iTunes they only play one at a time. If I move them into a folder (within the Vlc iOS app), they p,as one after another, but the order is reversed (I.e. 201b.mp4, 201a.mp4, 200b.mp4 etc...). I can manually reorder them but with circa 400 files that would take forever. Is there a way to reorder the files within a folder by file name?
Or alternatively can I create a playlist on Windows/iTunes that will place them in the correct order and import that onto my iPad / the iOS app?

I also have this question, but do not have an answer to offer, am hoping others will. My issue is audio files (FLAC), but the exact same issue -- I know how to create the folder, I know how to add the files to the folder, but VLC loads the files in "reverse order," and play in reverse order. Other than adding the files one at a time (a glacial pace), I have not been able to figure out on my own, or via the internet, any kinds of a basic fix.

The only way that I've found to get files to sort correctly in a folder is to move them into it one by one. No matter how you select them to move multiple files at once (first to last or last to first) they sort in reverse ord (Z-A) within the folder.

At least they will automatically play the next file if you move them individually.
