VLC on APPLE TV NOT WORKING

I have used VLC on my apple tv since it was released with no problems until at some point over the last few days the app will no longer open. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app but no joy. I'm running the latest version of tvos...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you checked, wether the AppleTV has updated tvOS?
I have seen, that my AppleTV once started itself at 11pm and installed the latest tvOS version (a developer beta).

Anyway, VLC should not break with tvOS 10, it worked fine for me. But maybe it (VLCKit) uses some API calls, that are deprecated and Apple has removed them from tvOS?
