VLC acting weird

I have xiaomi mini wifi router and I have my external 1 TB Seagate slim hard drive attached to it, untill 3 days ago I was using the audio-video files stored on my hard drive through VLC's local netword ( SMB ) suddenly from 3 days it takes 3-4 minutes to access my hard drive through local network... two things happened in between, as I am using my xiaomi router as wifi-repeater, the main router was changed, second I've upgraded to iOS 10, can you suggest what could be the cause?
