Music metadata

Postby jamaggs » 01 May 2016 20:31

Hello

I have just downloaded the latest version of vlc for iOS on my iphone 5s. I am trying to transfer music (.ogg) from ubuntu using wireless, and this works fine insofar as the files are transferred to the phone. The files play but the metadata does not seem to be recognised and therefore they are not grouped into music albums. The metadata is definitely in the files (for example, vlc can read the metadata on ubuntu). This is a real shame, because if I transfer a lot of files it will be impossible to manage them without the metadata being recognised.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks

James

We don't really have a solution for this at the moment. We will definitely look into it. A similar issue can occur with .flac files.

This is happening to me too :(. VLC for iOS isn't recognizing any metadata for .flac or .mp3

This is still an issue in VLC Mobile 2.7.8.

I have an issue with VLC not reading metadata for some mp3 files as well. I have some 320 mp3s that the metadata doesn't show up. However, metadata shows up for some 128kbps mp3s.
