Your input can't be opened

When opening a network stream, I get the following error:
"Your input can;t be opened. VLC is unable too open the MLR file [...] Check the logs for details."
Any idea how I can get rid of this error message.

I can dismiss it and the stream will play for a few seconds then stop.

How can I enforce the stream to keep playing?
