SMB seemingly not authenticating in the new version

Postby mattymc2 » 22 Dec 2015 21:59

Hi guys. I just installed the latest version of VLC on my iPhone and Apple TV. Very excited to have SMB access. However when I choose my network share from the list of sharesand type in my username and password after clicking connect nothing comes up. No error and no file listing. I have double checked my credentials and tried this on both the iPhone and Apple TV. What am I missing here?
Any help would be fantastic.
Also just to note I am able to connect to my network drive from other apps such as infuse or simply browsing them on the finder n my Mac. It is just an external hard drive connected to an airport extreme.

I saw something similar with the release build last night. What is your network share? Is it a NAS or a Mac or...?

I'm having the same problem. I have a WD MyBookWorld and I can connect to it from my Windows 10 machine, my Mac and other Apps.

We identified the reason for this. Will be fixed in the next update, which we will submit the day Apple is back from the holidays (aka Dec 29).

Has this been fixed in 2.7.1? I'm encountering the same problem when trying to connect from my iPad (iOS 9.2) to the SMB share on my Mac (OS X 10.11.2). On my iPad when I go to VLC > Local Network and choose my Mac from the list of SMB file servers and enter my credentials I just get a blank screen.

I see all smb windows shares names. I can only get folders from XP windows , not windows 7 or windows 10. VLC 2.7.2 on ipad 2 (ios 8.1)and ipad mini 1 (ios 9.2). I can use oplayer for all windows shares and folders.

I have the same question as well . I attempted to connect my iPad with the win10 PC. I could see my shared filename under local network of VLC, but it's empty when I click it and input my username and password.

No news about this yet? Still unable to connect to MyBookWorld NAS via SMB; it looks like it can connect but the App won't list the folders. Please, do something, we're in March already! I love VLC but you guys have forced me to use Infuse(https://appsto.re/us/xJEp1.i) because of this yet unfixed bug.
