Hello,
I am a long time user of the VLC program specifically for Windows but I am trying to branch out further with my version currently installed on my iPad. Since trying to self diagnose the issue that I will go on to explain I have discovered that VLC is no longer available on the App Store so I am unsure of my current version or even if this could be part of the issue I am experiencing.
I would like to use a function within VLC that will allow me to access media content on a DNS-320 NAS, looking at the app it seems this is possible through UPNP. As soon as I went into Local Network I could see my NAS appear under UPNP, however clicking on it reveals nothing bar a black area (under the white search bar).
I have tried to read various documentation and I dont think I have missed a setting somewhere that is blocking the content showing up. But I have to ask, am I missing something obvious for setup or could this be an issue others have experienced?
I have tried various ways to actually make sure that its not the UPNP on the NAS side that the issue - I have installed Kodi on my PC and after a little setup it can browse and play media via UPNP from this NAS. I will say though that I have tried a couple of Android apps and its sort of a half way point between my iPad and PC, where it can see some files in the NAS via UPNP but its a complete pig sty which is frustrating to try and navigate.
All other aspects of offline playback are working perfectly in the VLC app.
Many Thanks for any advice you can give
