phone freezes if I watch a movie and someone calls

hi.

I noticed, these past few weeks that my phone freezes during a movie or tv show and someone calls me at that exact moment.

I can´t turn the phone off or use soft reset. I can´t even answer the call since the only thing that appear on the screen is vlc.

it takes a long time before something happens.

is there a way around this?

I just tried this, but couldn't reproduce it. I'm using iPhone 5 with latest iOS. When a call arrived, I could answer to it. The only problem was, that the video kept playing same time of the call. But I could still hear the voice of caller perfectly. After I ended the call, the video strangely stopped, but I could immediately continue playing it. Have you tried the following~

- update iOS to latest version
- update VLC to latest version
- shut down iPhone and then turn on again
- does the problem occur with all videos or just some videos?

And what iPhone version are you using?

I have experienced that thing as well.

But to answer your questions:

- I have an iPhone 5
- latest iOS version
- latest VLC version
- all videos
- the problem persists even after I turn off and on the phone

Everything was working fine until a few weeks ago. Then something happened. Don't know what or why

Ok... sounds strange. You should try to remove vlc and reinstall, maybe that'd help. Otherwise, I cannot help more =(

I have reinstalled the app and now its somewhere in between´.

the call goes through but it starts of as I mentioned before... the show/movie Im watching freezes on the display and I hear that someone calls but no visual of who or the answer reject buttons.

then 2-3 seconds later... vlc goes into the background and i can see who is calling and I can answer the call.

I experienced the same bug, iPhone would freeze if a call came in while I was listening to an internet audio stream (.m3u).
Only hard reset could reboot phone.
Upgrading to latest iOS did not fix it.

Just reinstalled vlc as suggested above... Seems to have fixed it... Though I can hear audio from the stream AND incoming call at the same time...

Spoke too soon, tried it again.

Audio cuts out, screen and phone freezes, phone continues to ring, have to hard reset iPhone.

Anyone got a stable app to listen to .m3u? VLC is great for that but freezing on a call is annoying to say the least, probably a deal breaker....

Let me try to reproduce. I debugged this feature with videos only and those were correctly paused and restarted after the call ended.

I can not do anything with ge phone when I watch something and I get a call. 100% frozen phone.

This bug continues with audio only. Once it "resolved" by me just letting the call ring but 9 times out of 10 the phone freezes by continuing to "ring" until I have to reset the phone by pressing Home + Power On.

Decided to remove VLC instead.
