No need to be a burden, but any kind of estimate for a release date? Just bought a new TV and the Videostream app isn't working for me anymore.

Read this wrong, didn't realize it was under VLC for iOS. Is there anything like this going to be coming out for the PC?

In addition to the iOS variant, we are also working on a Windows / Linux / Mac implementation, which will take a bit longer because it's harder.

If a packaged Chrome app is in the pipeline, Chromecast implementation on the desktop won't be nearly as difficult via the Chrome app in question as it would with different native apps for different platforms... so, out of curiosity, is there one in the pipeline?!

Yeah an update on the CC progress would be awesome, then I won't have to visit this forum every day to see if the Windows Desktop VLC can handle Chromecast

Yup. This will be pretty awesome (as always with VLC). Then we'll be able to stream dvd's to our TV's! I don't do it that often bec almost all my media are mp4/avi/mkv files and also bec it's a pain to play vob files with Videostream!

Take as long as you need VLC. I know you will provide us with a stable release that will work well...

Thank you for the update. Do you think there is anything we (non-developers) can do to help you guys with this? I was thinking about a donation campaign specifically for this feature. I know many people who are very eager to start using this that I believe we can raise something quite quickly to increase the motivation of the team. But I don't know how the Videolan community works, so it's up to yuo guys... Just let us know if there is anything the users can do to contribute.

The simple solution would be to download the VLC plugin for chrome, allowing you to use VLC and its features within the chrome browser, at which point you could press the 'cast' button, and voilla! prob solved.. barring any complications of course.

Figured I would ask again if this feature is available yet? Love VLC and I love my Chromecast. Be great if they worked nicley together. It is a bit choppy when I play thru my Chrome Browser.

Anything new on this? I just got my Chromecast and I love it, but I hate the limited file types the in-browser casting supports.
