URL is stuck in URL field

Postby georgew » 24 Feb 2014 01:48

Hi, I am using VLC for IOS 2.2.2 on my iPad retina.
I inserted a URL in the URL field in the Open Network Stream page for the first time. From then on the same URL is shown in the field no matter how many times I enter a different URL. Only the very first URL is shown. How can I make it remember the last URL instead? To test it, enter a URL in the URL field, press Open Network Stream to start download any small file. Once finished, change page to say All Files, then change back to either Downloads or Open Network Stream and whatever URL was there before the last download, will reappear.
Any suggestions?
Thank you and thank you for a great product

I should add that deleting the app and reinstalling it does not help

VLC will automatically fetch the current URL from your pasteboard when opening the download or network stream sections for the first time. However, there is the (x) button at the end of the field, which lets you empty it to enter another URL.

Thank you, yes I know that. The point of my post was that no matter how many new URLs I type into the field after I click the (X), the very first one keeps coming back.

Re: URL is stuck in URL field - SOLVED

Sorry, I didn't understand what the "pasteboard" was. I have now cleared the clipboard and the URL has disappeared for ever. Pasting a blank field will also work, but typing into the URL field will not. Thank you for your help.
