VLC for Fire app not working with Alexa Show 15

Hi, has anyone had any luck getting the VLC app to work on Alexa Show 15 (or any other Show for that matter)? It's never worked for me. App version is VLC for Fire 3.5.4. It lists my device as a compatible device.

When trying to access a local network stream a few frames of the video show but the screen is quickly obscured by a "Video Player Tips" screen which cannot be removed either by touch or using the Alexa Show remote control. The video also stops after a fraction of a second. The only way to clear it is to exit the app but the same thing happens when restarting. It looks like a bug.

Any info, experience, tips welcome. I can send a photo of the error if helpful.

Thank you.

Video Player Tips is an instructional sequence that appears only on the first use of VLC after installation. Just dismiss it.

If the player stops, there must be a crash or something.

Could you please share some logs? Reproduce the issue and then go to: Settings > Advanced > Debug logs. Then share the logs with the sharing service you prefer (Google Drive, Dropbox, pastebin...).

Thanks for the replies. I will get the logs as suggested.

The player doesn't crash per se. As Spike1 suggested it is trying to give me some first time usage instructions but the problem is they never go away. No matter what I try I cannot get rid of them.

eg if I use the Show 15's touch screen it doesn't recognise the touch. And if I use the Show 15's remote control it won't let me select anything to dismiss it. So it's just stuck in a loop and cannot be cleared.

Not sure if there's any other way to override the instructions of first usage but I think that is the issue.

Many thanks for taking the time.
