Playlists end after songs with '#' (hashtag/pound sign/number sign) in title

Postby DGthe3 » 02 Dec 2024 20:42

I recently got a new phone and when I synced (with MediaMonkey v5) my music from my PC, I noticed that in my VLC player a number of my playlists were missing huge chunks of their songs. Investigating further, I see that on these shortened playlists, things are fine up until a song with a '#' in the title. That song is NOT included on the playlist, nor is anything after that.

At first I thought this was a problem with MediaMonkey but using other media players on my phone, the full playlist is there. This appears to be an issue with VLC Android.

Could you please share a playlist file? Also, what is the VLC app's version?

Thanks for replying.

VLC Android is version 3.5.7 (from Oct 11).

I had a typo (or brainfart) with my initial post. The first song *NOT* shown on the shortened playlist is the one with the # in title. Original post has now been edited.

Anyway, here is a playlist I made for testing this, plus screenshots of it from my phone in both VLC player & in my Galaxy's native music player. https://file.io/ZW9nIkAd2HgL
