VLC now no longer works since it updated this morning on Android. The error says, "Unfortunately, VLC has stopped" when tapping to start the app. After tapping "ok", you can see the app screen briefly arise and then the error again. Update went from version 3.5.4 to 3.5.5.

This is a known issue. The 3.5.6 version will fix it. It's currently under review by Google.

You can download it now, at https://artifacts.videolan.org/vlc-android/release/

Or beta-test 3.6.0 at https://artifacts.videolan.org/vlc-andr ... tly-armv7/

Or go to the sibling directory for your device's architecture).

3.5.6 has not fixed it. To recreate the issue, when trying to d/l a subtitle it crashes and gives the crash message.

It's not the same crash. This one will be fixed in the 3.5.7 version which will be next. Sorry for the inconvenience.
