AndroidTV video resolution issue

Hey fellas

I'm on a very recent beta version because otherwise I can't open my samba shares. But I'm pretty sure the stable release has the same issue below.

I noticed on my new Android TV box (X98Q, Android 11, armv7) that for any video I play in VLC, vlc recognizes the video frame resolution (in video information) erroneously as 4096x2304. This res is the highest supported hdmi resolution I believe. I have the output set to 4k at the moment ~ 3840x2160 and I don't know why it detects video at 4096x2304. The picture is razor sharp so I don't think it's actually 4096. I believe it really is 3840...

As a result, the zoom in VLC is always wrong. Any aspect ratio that doesn't match the output AR is simply stretched. I have to custom select the AR for every video I watch.

What's odd about this box is that all the GUI is 1280x720 but the box is actually 4k 120Hz. Before I got it, I thought when reading this, that can't be true, but I can confirm it is. It doesn't switch resolution when playing higher resolutions. It's like the 720p gui is layered ontop a 4k output. The video picture is amazingly sharp in all the video apps but as soon as menues/controls are displayed, they're quite ugly in 720p. Behind the controls is a razor sharp picture.

How can I get VLC to detect the real video resolution?

Any ideas? Thanks!

Do you have a sample to share?

Do you have a sample to share?
A sample video or picture of the video info overlay?

Any video exhibits this issue. I did check today and I believe it only happens to videos above 720p.

Yes, I was asking for a video sample, but for now, could you share a screenshot with the video player running and the Information panel opened?
