VLC Google TV App not seeing subtitles
Posted: 06 Jan 2024 08:06
I hope I'm in the right place, 1st time here, forgive me and direct me to proper place if not.
I have 2 Google TV's, and VLC installed on both, I have my Movie database connected to my router, (USB Drive), and both TV's can read and play the movies just fine, as well as Navigate through all the folder, no problem at all.
But when I play a movie, and try to select a subtitle to add to movie, I select "Select Subtitle File", and another box pops open with just 2 directories.
"Internal Memory", and "OTG Device". It does not include any other folder to navigate to find the .srt files.
I added a custom SMB path as well, and tried that, and it allows of finding all the movie files, and plays the movies, but once again, when I try to add a subtitle, it doesn't even find a directory, a box just pops open saying "no files found".
So I went into settings/Media library folders , and it shows my name of the Drive, but it shows "No Subfolders", so I tried to add a custom folder to the path, and it just fails. I cannot figure out how to add a custom path.
Although I am not sure this will help anyways.
I spent many hours on this, some help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
kind regards
Frank
