VLC crash when playback started from 3rd party apps.

Postby programatix » 17 Dec 2022 10:09

This problem started with VLC 3.5.4 Beta 1. There is no issue with VLC 3.5.3.

Starting video playback from the following apps immediately crashed VLC.
  1. Synology Photos
  2. Total Commander
  3. Samsung My Files
The following apps will get VLC to start video playback without any issue.
  1. Solid Explorer
  2. X-Plore

Also fails when a video is selected by Simple File Manager 6.14.3 Pro from F-Droid. (PS—Audios launch OK.) VLC Nightly 3.5.3 of 2022-12-01 didn't have the problem.
