Splitting video to be played back by VLC

I use VLC on Amazon Fire HD Tablet. It has a microSD card slot but it does not support NTFS/exFAT or Linux FS. So file size are limited to 4GB.

I know how to cut video into smaller sizes. But is it possible to split video such that VLC will play them seamlessly. As in treating multiple files as a single video, automatically play the next segment and, if possible, allow me to fastforward / rewind through multiple files?

Seamless transition from one medium to the next is a feature many users have asked for. It would also facilitate endless-loop media. It's complicated to implement (I think because decoding and play occurs beneath VLC, in Android) and it will surely not happen before VLC version 4.

I don't think seeking between multiple files will be implemented in VLC 4. You can already ease your use by using two options:
- Settings > Interface > "Video playlist mode" will play all your files at once
- Settings > Video > uncheck "Video transition" will prevent the controls and title to appear when you switch files

Thanks. Playlist is also the first thing that comes to my mind. I was hoping that some feature that I wasn't aware would allow me to do simple file splitting instead of video file splitting to separate videos. In the absence of better solution, I guess playlist would be the best workaround so far.
