Cropping while casting?

Hi guys,

I know I can crop video on-the-fly when I output video to my laptop screen, and I know I can cast the video to my Chromecast/Google TV, but is it possible to do both - i.e. cast a video to my Chromecast AND crop it to say 16:9 when it plays on my TV?

Thanks in advance! 👍🏼

I dont want to upset you , but alot of people here asking for New features - instead of vlc android being only 40meg - will grow to 4 gig one day. Im happy with all the features - we just want the bugs removed so that its working the same as vlc-windows version !

Hi @melani, thanks for taking the time to reply and provide some info...
  • (a) Apologies for the giant, thumbs up - have no idea why the emoji came out so huge!? :?

  • (b) I get your point, although to clarify, in my defence I wasn't asking for a new feature, I was just trying to find out how (and whether it was or wasn't possible) to combine 2 existing features -- i.e. [1] cropping (which you can do now) and [2] casting (which you can do now).

  • (c) Agreed, standardising the apps across platforms is always sensible... In fairness, I primarily use VLC on Windows too so in that sense this questions is maybe more of a VLC windows one - I put it in this forum though as it seemed like the Google Casting to an Android device was the limiting factor (maybe this post would be better in the Windows forum - if so, am happy to move/re-post it)
