I have all of my media in one folder, each artist in a subfolder from there. VLC only finds about half of the content. If I got to folders manually in VLC i can find/play everything.


Any ideas?

Under "More > Settings > Media library", be sure VLC is enabled either to scan the correct directories or to look through the entire device.

You didn't say which VLC version; work is being done that might affect your report. Perhaps get the newest nightly version at https://artifacts.videolan.org/vlc-andr ... tly-armv7/ (or tap .. and find the right directory for your processor) and see if the problem still exists.

I have VLC setup to scan the "Music" folder and all subfolders, which is the one where I have all of my audio files. When I drill down to the folders in question, I get "No media files found"....

I'm running version 3.4.4 from the play store. I downloaded the most recent .apk from you link, and have the same issue

I had exactly that problem, downloaded the latest nightly (3.5.0 RC 1 2022-07-05), and no longer have it. Please see https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=160192

You can verify (via More > About) which version you are actually running.

Turns out all of the folders where media couldn't be found had the ".nomedia" file in them. Deleted them all, and viola! All songs show up!!
