The three dots button is too hard to press, ruins playlist

Postby erh » 30 Mar 2022 13:00

Hi,

I get this issue when I want to append a song while I am playing another song.

I try to press the three dots button on the right side of the screen to append a song to the current playlist.
The three dots button on the right is too small. It's very easy to miss it. When I miss it, the app starts playing that song immediately, and it ruins the playlist.

The button should be larger and easier to press.

I raised this complaint in Jan'21, leading to Github bug #1659. I believe it has been improved. It is hard to make this mistake when you're paying attention, but it's still possible to do so when you are not. I sometimes miss and hit the scroll bar, which is still less annoying than missing in the other direction and playing the desired song INSTEAD OF the songs already in the play queue.

PS—Are you running a version of VLC more recent than Jan'21?

Yes, it's on auto-update. Currently at 2022-02-14.

I see room for improvement. In the audio tabs, in list mode, the button is 48dp x 32dp. In the browser it's 32dpx32dp. There is room to make it at least 48dpx48dp in both case, which is the default size for Android touchable views. I'll take a look.
