Issue with decoding persian(rtl) Subtitle

Hi, play video link below to see problem.
Also i changed subtitle decoding in setting and restart app but subtitle shows as square.

Can someboy plz confirm this bug is known or not? I installed vlc 3.4.0 rc2 and problem is still there.

"Subtitle shows as square" means you are seeing a solid rectangular block instead of characters?

Do you know if the bug occurs in other languages that are read right-to-left?

I should add other player such as xplayer can show it properly.
About other rtl language I really don't know but this doesn't happen on all subs just in this particular video.

Yes, I can confirm the issue, same behaviour for me with VLC 3.4.0 RC1 on my Samsung running Android 10.
However it's playing fine with MPV for Android on the same phone. The Samsung built-in video player is also showing correct subtitles but the lines are somehow 'blended' and misplaced.

VLC has no real font selection on Android

Well, looks like MPV and the Samsung player are automatically doing this because I'm not selecting any font at any moment.
