v3.34 Refresh fails

Postby pzbrawl » 21 Jun 2021 20:23

Running VLC 3.3.4 on Android 10 against a Windows 10 LAN media server, clicking Refresh from the three-dot menu repeatedly fails to reflect a file deletion that's been executef concurrently on the server.

To butt in here: I don't know what Refresh refreshes; perhaps changes to the ID3 tags. When I add or delete files in a folder (USB to on-phone storage), I now de-select the folder beforehand, then re-select it after the transfers are complete. This induces VLC to do a complete search of the folder.

Separately, audio tracks from the same album in separate folders (e.g., I put one song elsewhere as it's an instrumental) display as separate entries under ALBUMS; that's a bug.

Pull to refresh asks the data again to the medialibrary (the indexes medias)
Refresh relaunches the medialibrary discovery and parsing (the file crawling to see if there are new/deleted files/folders). You shouldn't have to deselect/reselect for that.

Is a ticket opened for that?
