Another Subtitle Option Please?

Using current version of VLC Android on two current model Sony flat screen TVs. I stream movies and TV shows from two NAS drives and I sometimes have subtitle files separate from the video files. When I play one of these movies I have subtitles for on the hard disk in the same directory as the movie, and access the VLC subtitle feature, there is no option to have VLC automatically look for subtitle files in the directory with the movie. And there is no option to navigate on the NAS to the subtitle file. I can only download subtitles... which works many times, but not every time. Would be nice if VLC Android would play subtitle files with the .srt file extension if there is one in the same directory with the movie (or have VLC allow navigating to the subtitle file).
