Chromecast with Google TV struggling to reproduce H265 Videos

Since I bought the new Chromecast with Google TV I was expecting to watch h265 files with no issues at all.
When I tried it with VLC version 3.3.4 the videos are stuttering becoming impossibile to watch.
I don't know if it is a VLC related issue or a Chromecast with Google TV issue, but the Chromecast should be able to manage h265 or am I wrong?
