How to permanently show timeline with current playing position at the bottom?

When I swipe from the bottom of running VLC for Android to north then the timeline with the current playing position is visible.

After some seconds it vanishes again.

How can I tell VLC to PERMANENTLY show this timeline with playing position?

In 3.3.4, some version of the timeline is always visible, though there are other controls that jump around.

When you play a song, the time elapsed/remaining is prominent. The line at the top of this pane turns orange to show progress through the song. When you pull this pane to the top to show the queue, a new control appears at the bottom with the complete progress report and play controls. They don't disappear for me, but they may if you scroll the main pane.

The expanded player should indeed only be collapsed with a user interaction and should stay there without any. The only event that can close it is if it reaches the end of your play queue.

Again: I am not talking about playing "a song" but play a video!

So when I open a video (from inside VLC for Androdi) it starts without showing the timeline at the bottom.
Even more: Noting but the video (in full tablet screen) is shown - NO controls.

When I tap once on the display the timeline + 3-dot-menu + stop icon + some more at the bottom
AND the video title at the top is shown.

This all vanishes after approx 3 seconds WITHOUT "user interaction"

How can I disable control+timeline vanishing?

Sorry for the late answer.

Settings > Video > Video player controls hiding delay > Infinite.

Settings > Video > Video player controls hiding delay > Infinite.
This what would help in VLC FOR WINDOWS!

Unfortunately this setting does NOT exist in VLC FOR ANDROID

Any other idea?

No, It's for Android. It's not been available for long. Make sure you have the 3.3.4 version.

In version 3.4.4 on Android the feature does not work anymore : even if the "Videao player controls hiding delay" is set to "Infinite" in the Settings, when playing a new video, the timeline is hidden. Then, when pausing and playing the video again, it gets hidden again.

Would be great to get it work as it is supposed to, and let the controls displayed anytime when set to "Infinite".

Could you please try the 3.5.0 beta? It has been improved.
