Problem With Video Being Marked as Watched Before End

I have VLC on my Nvidia Shield TV. I am watching a video that is 3:46:17. When I stop the video early on, like at 00:12:32, and open VLC later, it continues from 00:12:32. However, if I stop the video near the end, like at 03:43:00, and open VLC later, it plays from 0 again. How do I tell VLC to not mark videos as watched if they are stopped near the end? I'd like to be able to tell VLC to not mark a video as watched until the entire video in its entirety has been played. How do I do this?
